Productivity

On this webpage I have published a list, that I have started to compile in a google sheet. That I use with a Zapier automation to save bookmarks of interesting information that I have found over the years on the web and used in some way, with additional comments to remind me what I used that information for. 

One of the main driving reasons for doing this is to help me to be more organised in training people and hopefully create more time in a roundabout way.

I have found over the years that there is a lot of good training material free out there created by others so I do not have to recreate wheel. I just have to reference it in a logical manner as some times you have to search thru a lot of dirt to find the gems worth keeping.

The benefit of bookmarking the information in the google sheet means I can 

  • add the extra comments
  • group like subjects together and 
  • sort them into some kind of numbering system into a logical viewing/reading order. 
For future reference by myself and newbies I maybe training. In that regard both my wife and I are big fans of NCIS and I like the idea of Gibbs Rules. What is rule number ### on how to do something. Don't know then go and see the spreadsheet below. 

I lot of new staff eventually ask me "How do you know what I know and how to do it?" and no it is not really experience, it's that I have just had more time to watched and read a lot more work related stuff in my own time that you have not.  

And to end with one of my fathers favorite sayings  "A student is only as good as the teacher has taught" so hopefully by collating this information I will became a better teacher and you a better student.

This will be a live document so will change daily based on what I maybe working on how I have re sorted it.
